Founder's Story

Luk comes from a background in Fine Arts,
and is a professional barber and stylist, as well as an American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Certified Hair Loss and Trichology Practitioner.

She has trained and worked across Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Hong Kong — and has personally experienced scalp issues.

Under the guidance of a mentor in Malaysia who valued community engagement alongside technical skill, her training extended beyond the craft and into the community, providing haircuts for the homeless and those in need. These early experiences shaped a profound understanding of her work — not simply as hairstyling, but as a form of connection and care.

Her time in London, working and training in editorial hairstyling, and later in Hong Kong within premium men’s grooming, further refined her aesthetic discipline and her perspective on grooming as a detail-led, wellness-oriented practice.

While in Vancouver, driven by her own scalp concerns, Luk began developing all-natural styling solutions that delivered real performance. When a client insisted on purchasing her creation, Scalptures™ quietly began.

Today, Luk brings together formal training in hair loss and trichology with hands-on craft. Grounded in scientific understanding and guided by lived experience, she continues to develop hair styling solutions where care is integral, not secondary.

Her vision is to offer an alternative — where no one has to compromise long-term wellness for immediate results.
